In order to nurture talents in Chinese studies and related humanities studies, as well as to facilitate intellectual exchange and advancement among junior scholars around the world, the Ying-shih Yü International Center for History and the Chinese Humanities at National Taiwan University (hereafter “YCHCH”) invites doctoral students worldwide to submit applications for visiting junior fellowships at YCHCH for the 2024-25 academic year.
Eligibility to Apply
The applicant must enroll in doctoral study at established institutions in or outside Taiwan (preference will be given to PhD candidates). The applicant’s research field should be related to the YCHCH’s vision of the humanities.
Grant Period
Three to twelve months between September 2024 and August 2025. The applicant must have a NTU full/associate/assistant professor to be his/her academic supervisor during the fellowship period.
Conditions of Awards
- Monthly living and research allowance of NT$ 50,000.
- Access to NTU research facilities.
- One round-trip air ticket (economy-class) for awardees affiliated with institutions outside Taiwan.
Obligations
- The junior fellow must give at least one public talk.
- The junior fellow must submit a report to YCHCH before the conclusion of the fellowship period.
- The junior fellow must acknowledge receiving support from YCHCH in research (including dissertation) carried out during the period of fellowship.
