As the second Trump presidency fuels uncertainty in US foreign policy, Taiwan’s security and economic resilience are being further challenged by economic inequality and overconcentration, increasing energy demands, and disagreements over public spending. The innovative spirit that propelled Taiwan to the forefront of the global high-tech economy now needs to extend to policymaking to not only respond to short-term policy shocks but also ensure long-term resilience.
