Position Overview
Position Title: Intermediate Lecturer
Research Direction: Education History and Culture

Position Requirements
We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our Education History and Culture research team. The ideal candidate will have:
1. Educational Background:
A Ph.D. in Education History, Chinese History, World History, or a related field from a well-known domestic or international university.
Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience at institutions with doctoral degree authorization in Education or History, or at national key discipline research institutions.
2. International Experience:
At least one year of study or research experience at a high-level overseas university is preferred.
3. Teaching Skills:
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses effectively.
4. Research Excellence:
A strong publication record, with at least 1 SSCI-indexed paper (as first author) or 2 CSSCI-indexed papers (as first author).
Experience in leading or participating in ministerial-level or above research projects is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Research Tasks:
1. Conduct research on the history of Chinese higher education and university development, responding to national and disciplinary needs.
2. Explore the educational heritage of Jiangnan, focusing on the historical and cultural roots of top talents such as academicians, scientists, and university presidents.
3. Publish 4-6 high-level papers in SSCI or CSSCI journals within 3-5 years and secure at least 1 provincial or ministerial-level research project.
4. Engage in academic exchange and collaboration, expanding 1-2 collaborative channels or projects for disciplinary development.
Teaching Tasks:
1. Teach undergraduate courses such as “History of Chinese and Foreign Education.”
2. Participate in graduate-level teaching, including courses like “Topics in Chinese and Foreign Education History” and “Theories and Methods of Educational History.”
Other Tasks:
Contribute to the academic and administrative tasks assigned by the school, department, or discipline.
About the School and Team
School of Humanities at Jiangnan University:
Founded over 70 years ago, the School of Humanities at Jiangnan University was established in 2010 through the merger of the former School of Education, School of Literature, and School of Arts. The school is committed to interdisciplinary integration, innovative talent cultivation, and high-level research. It offers a range of programs, including a doctoral program in Design Education, master’s programs in Education, Chinese Language and Literature, Music and Dance, and undergraduate programs in Primary Education, Educational Technology, Chinese Language and Literature, Musicology, and Dance Choreography.
Education History and Culture Research Team:
Our team, led by Professor Yu Shujuan, is composed of three senior faculty members, including two professors and one associate professor. The team focuses on Su’nan culture and regional education, higher education and university history, and comparative studies of Chinese and Western school reforms. With a strong publication record and numerous national and provincial research projects, the team is dedicated to advancing educational history research with a focus on Jiangnan’s unique cultural and educational heritage.
