Dear Members and Friends of EATS,

We are pleased to announce that our 2024 September issue for EATS Newsletter has now gone LIVE on our website. From Sept 2024 onwards, the newsletter transitions to LIVE webpage format. So that you can simply get more regular updates from us with a few clicks away. 

The newsletter page can be found by scrolling to the middle of our main page (https://eats-taiwan.eu/where you will see “Recent News” to link to the latest articles that are included in the upcoming release. 

Alternatively, you can go onto the section of “News” at the top-right corner, you will see further break down of different subsections and colour labels that help you to navigate the articles you wish to read more intuitively.

We hope, with this new “face-lift”, the newsletter is more adaptable to today’s news consumption and allows more EATS friends to enjoy their reading. We continue to provide 2 issues throughout the year, so major updates of EATS newsletter will be announced at the beginning of each academic term. However, if there are quick updates about CFP or new project info, we will update them more instantly.

Also, 2024 UCLan Spotlight Taiwan will be hosting its “Home x Queer” strand on 23 Sept 2024 (Monday) in Manchester. The day is packed with a film screening of Taiwanese retro-LGBTQ film “Eternal Summer” @Manchester HOME Cinema. In the afternoon,Taiwanese writer, Kevin Chen 陳思宏 and his English translator, Dailun Shi will talk about Kevin’s queer novel, “Ghost Town” at Manchester Central Library.

*Free admission for the whole event. Lunch and refreshment provided for signed-up participants, but spaces are limited! So first come, first serve.

*UCLan staff & students may also win free return travel from Preston to Manchester.

*The Spotlight Taiwan event series is generously supported by Taiwan Ministry of Culture.
