Taiwan is closer than you think
World Federation of Taiwanese Associations (WFTA) has been founded on the 7 September 1974 in Vienna, Austria. It was a significant event, not only for WFTA but also for Taiwan’s democratisation history, symbolizing the unity of overseas Taiwanese people and their solidarity in the fight for a free and democratic country. The first general assembly of WFTA has been meticulously documented in the inaugural quarterly journal. This documentation provides us with valuable information, allowing us to trace back to this historical day and the birthplace of WFTA – School of Dominican Sisters in Vienna. Today, it gives us great pleasure to invite our members and friends to celebrate with us the 50thanniversary of WFTA in the place where this remarkable history unfolded.
